CopperWood Forest by ~Kadeling-xs:iconKadeling-xs:

Once Upon A Time in a place called CopperWood, there was this lil grey fur ball of a wolf pup. It literally looked like a dust bunny with wolf legs, a stub tail and the tip of a muzzle sticking out. The little fur ball, weaved her way through everyone's feet, through logs, walked around twigs until she made her way to the small steam over the hill and down the other side. This young fur ball of a pup was very thirsty from her travels as her little legs curried to carry her everywhere. The pup looked around for a stream of water anywhere. She heard some water flowing and walked into the general direction of the water sounds. Once she found it, she leaned over to get a drink of water, but fell in from a light breeze of air. The breeze of air to anyone else would have moved their fur slightly but to her, pushed the unbalanced cub into the river. Now, soaking wet from head to toe, grey poofy fur stuck to her skin so you can see her face for once, her small voice box only yelped so loudly but it didn't cross over the hill from the steam. She was being carried away from the current and every time she would run into a rock and try to hold on, the rock as slippery and she couldn't hold on for much longer until she was carried away down stream again, yelping out again for help.

This little wet fur ball now being carried away down stream, and no one in the CopperWood clan could hear her. The cub saw a tree branch that had fallen from a tree and had its twigs and some of itself in the river. The twigs that touched the surface of the water looked like fingertips that where ever so gentally placed there and caused creases in the flow of watery silk. The cub caught onto a branch that was sticking out of the stream. The little wolf pup grabbed onto it as best she could with her teeth, tossing a soaked paw up around the branch and lifted herself up as best she could. She slipped a couple times, making her yelp. The small grey pup kicked her way up onto the branch and then panted once she got up, from working so hard and trying not to drown. To her, it was like a jet stream. To everyone else, it was a small current. Her having just been born just days ago, didn't know much of the land. She had traveled from another pack until she came across CopperWood.

The small wolf pup, now having both her arms wrapped around the branch and her body curved around it, it looked like an oversized, soaked dark grey marshmallow on the end of a stick about to be roasted in the fire. She yelped out again and looked around frantically. The little pup kicked her legs up around the branch and crawled herself on the thick wood out of the river. Carefully, and with more attempts at balance, walked off the thick branch arms until she got to the end where it laid still. Climbing off of the branch that saved her life that was laying next to the stream, she jumped off a bit and looked around, shivering herself to warm up but it wasn't working well. For once, she can see, but she squinted because she wasn't used to the massive sunlight in her magenta eyes. She started to slowly make her way up hill to a hollow tree in hopes that would keep her warm. The pup curled herself into the base of the hollow old tree at the top of the hill of CopperWood.

There was an assortment of dry leaves, twigs, and some flower pedals that blew in from a hard breeze. She nosed them into an assortment of a bed and pawed some other things into place. She looked around the hollow trunk and suddenly had a bad feeling about sleeping under this tree. She poked her head out of the hole and looked around for anyone else. She saw some dens and a couple of them with an unguarded fire. She needed to get warm and figure this was the best way to do it. She got out of the hole of the tree trunk, took a couple paces, and then stopped. The old tree on the top of CopperWood hill stood tall with old, faded grey, on the whiter side of grey, with knot holes everywhere. It was old and had seen better days. It was still going strong. Having it being early may, the tree branches were spotted with colour all over the place. Mainly a rich leafy green. The cub shivered still as her, normally, grey poofy fur was drenched soaked and stuck to her. It was the only way to see her real shape to tell she was a pup. She looked down the hill towards the open, burning fire.

She blinked and looked at it more, shivering, and then bolted down the hill towards the open fire. She was desperately trying to find something to keep herself warm. The young pup finally made it to the fire. She was home free. At last. She stood inches of the fire, realized its true heat and took a couple steps back. She looked out and around the opening of the cave and found that the entire cave was left unattended. The pup sat on her hind legs and raised up one paw to warm it. Then the other. Then she stood on all fours and stuck her back leg out, and then the other. She stood sideways beside the fire, and then turned around as stood the other way so her other side and get warm. She sat with her back facing the fire, and then sat with her stomach facing the fire. Once she was warm, she decided to take a small nap by the fire. Minutes turned into hours, and hours turned into dusk. The pup woke up from realization that the fire had burnt out. She looked out the opening and saw that the sun was setting. Scared, having no place to go, and already invading someones home, she knew the top of CopperWood hill would be faithful to her and provide her a home. She looked around, to make sure no one was looking, as her regular, poof ball-like self, ran up the hill, out of the cave and to the trunk of the tree.
